Proper Decorum for November 5th Provided Obama Wins!
Proper Decorum for November 5th Provided Obama Wins!
This was hilarious! November 5th will be a day that will live in the annals of American History whether Senator Obama wins or not! Yet, we are looking forward to seeing Senator Obama become President Obama!
Someone sent this to me, I thought that I would pass it on!
Good Morning My People -
After watching the final debate the other night, it dawned on me that Obama could actually win this thing. If that happens, there will be a lot of people (some of our co-workers included) who will be afraid that an Obama presidency will usher in the end of days. They'll be watching us on November 5th (the day after the election) for signs of the end times.
To keep the peace and keep a lot of folks from getting nervous, I think we should develop a list of acceptable celebrations and behaviors we should probably avoid - at least for the first few days:
1. No crying, hugging or shouting "Thank you Lord" - at least not in public
2 No high-fives - at least not unless the area is clear and there are no witnesses
3 No laughing at the McCain/Palin supporters
4 No calling in sick on November 5th. They'll get nervous if too many of us don't show up. (Try to be on time and not your normal late arrival)
5 We're allowed to give each other knowing winks or nods in passing. Just try to keep from grinning too hard.
6. No singing loudly, We've come this Far By Faith (it will be acceptable to hum softly)
7. No bringing of barbeque ribs or fried chicken for lunch in the company lunchroom for at least a week (no chittlings at all) (this may make us seem too ethnic)
8. No leaving kool-aid packages at the water fountain (this might be a sign that poor folks might be getting a break through)
9. No Cupid Shuffle or Electric Slide during breaks (this could indicate a little too much excitement)
10. Please no Moving on Up music (we are going to try to remain humble)
11. No doing the George Jefferson dance (unless you're in your office with the door closed)
12. Please try not to yell----BOOOO YAH!
13. Just in case you're wondering, Doing the Running Man, cabbage patch, or a backhand spring on the highway is 100% okay.
If I've missed anything feel free to add to the list. I just want to
make sure we're all on the same page when Obama brings this thing home
on November 5th.
Now go get your early vote on, drive your cousins to the polls and let's make this thing happen!!!
Like Chris Rock said on Larry King Live last month. If people need anything done from a Black person on Wednesday Nov 5, 2008 they're wasting their time cause' aint' nothing gettin' done..

Hatred is Such An Awful Thing!
This is regretful behavior from some out there McCain supporters. This time from Pottsville, Pennsylvania. October 27, 2008.
This is awful, but those that would spew hate were drowned out by those who are willing to promote hope in our land! There are people of all colors in this nation that choose to leave some of the negative behaviors of our past!

Why is Black America So Excited About That One?
Why is Black America So Excited About That One? Senator John McCain’s That One comment in the debate was nothing short of condescending, and borderline racist. In my opinion, Senator McCain felt that both the campaign, and the debate were not going his way, so he resorted to using what some would call code language. Was Senator McCain so angry with Senator Obama that he had to resort to code language? Did Senator Obama’s political acumen, and verbal accuracy frustrate Senator McCain enough for him to forget that he was on worldwide television, and not in the Old South? Senator McCain why couldn’t you call your fellow Senator by his title, instead of referencing him as if he had just stole the rims off of your vehicle?
Black America has a history of having to deal with such verbal slights as Senator McCain’s. We are very disappointed in Senator McCain’s comments. When Black America finally has a candidate of its own hue that can really cut the mustard, why would he be called That One? Well I have news for Senator McCain, and the Republican Party we are going to turn out to vote for That One in record numbers! Black America is excited about fielding a respectable candidate who is articulate, graceful, and a cutting edge thinker! Yes we will vote for That One, but we will not be alone because millions upon millions of Americans of every ethnicity will also vote for That One!
I think with the increasingly racist tones of some of the Republican Ticket’s rallies, that this comment was a veiled, or subtle attempt to pander to many White Americans in swing states who are busy deciding whether or not to stomach a black man as President of the United States. My prayer is that many in this nation will see Senator McCain as out of touch, and out of ideas. America needs to forge its way into a brighter future with Barack Obama as the leader of this nation!

H-A-T-E-R-S! This is a Must See Freestyle!
I found this clip and believe it or not I was so blessed by these 2 young people! They put together this project on Haters and in the midst of doing so they released some very powerful statements! One of their statements is that if one is doing anything positive, that one will have haters! The second statement was that you aint nothing if you don't have a hater! Boy that will preach, and just in case any of you having a problem with a Christian promoting this song I would just want to share a few nuggets with you.
In the Holy Writ there are what I call Biblical Haters such as Cain, Joseph's Brothers, Saul, and so many others who always had problems with the favor that God had bestowed on another individual! Why should there be any haters at all? God has uniquely endowed each of us with so much promise, and so many gifts that one should be so busy with their God Given Assignments that one should scarcely have the time to hate on anyone else! It hurts sometimes to have some hate on you without a cause, but I am letting you know that H-A-T-E-R-S come with any trip into favorable territory! Have you encountered any haters on your journey, and if not should you ask yourself some serious questions about why not?
